Dear the legal the minds of the India,
I am writing this while of you are enjoying a brilliant farewell organised by our juniors, who have done a tremendous job with limited resources. Really Hats off to them.
Now I had planed not to write more on or about RG but since I received a mail saying I can no longer work on Times of India projects, I am truly jobless. So I have a lot of free time on my hands and IIT has charged me for Internet so here goes nothing.
Our main story tonight is about the greatest controversy that has ever happened in the History of RGSOIPL. It is about how the whole class was told something that was not true. I was how people were being duped. This story will burn holes into your minds. So fasten your seat belts.
I JUST GOT A MEMENTO TAGGED WITH THE WORDS "AFFABLE" which as per Google means "friendly, good-natured or easy to talk to" WTF!! that is as far form the truth than anything I have ever heard.
Let me explore the possibilities here, maybe the juniors knew so little about me that they thought they will go with affable. But if that were true then since I was so difficult to talk to in the first place I don't see how they could come-up with affable.
The second possibility is of-course even they did not know the meaning of affable at the time they were putting it on the box.
The third possibility is, as suggested by Kamat, that this was a sarcastic comment, a reply to all sarcastic comments I have ever made against anyone. Probably Karma really is a bitch and it was trying to bite me in the ass.
But the last and the most likely possibility is that I simply got someone else's gift pack. If that's that case and anyone else got a pack labeled "sarcastic" "egomaniac" "smug" "failure" "intolerable" "selfish" "self-centered" "sexist" or any such adjectives please deliver it to my room (just the label)
Since I have described myself in so many words in the paragraph above, it is time to thank people who put up with me. Starting with Rohin who still talks to me after three years in RG which is a big achievement in itself. Sonal Mishra, all the good and bad things we know and say about each other I still remember all the times in first year to now when you helped me out. Devanu for being the guy that you are cool and clam and stopping me from leaving the college in the first year (It was also party beacuse IIT did not agree to refund my fees) Manish Arya for getting me involved in some activities so I would cause trouble for everyone at all times. Kamat for prvoing God created more like me. Tanveer Verma for giving me hope that there are weirder people on earth. Narayanan for stopping me from committing suicide (and also stopping me from killing other people) Apoorv for being a great roommate and putting up with me for two years. Suraj, Gaurav, Prateek, for even talking to me. Aroah and Sukrit for being great roll numbers 19 and 21 and creating benchmarks in late submissions. Kushagra for being a good moot court opponent. Priyadarshan for teaching me the meaning of Boka, Amol for the word shaale... If I have missed anyone it maybe because I was running out of space, or they were not worth mentioning. I give the readers the option to chose if they fall in the former or latter category.
If history is anything to go by I don't see myself meeting any of you after we leave here. I hope you guys and everyone else in our batch does good wherever they go form here.
One last thing that I wish I should have said during the farewell, in this college we learnt legal statutes but I personally have learnt a lot of politics. I hope I will be able to put this skill to good use in my career. What Dexter Morgan owed it to his foster father, I owe to RGSOIPL.
Finally if some junior is reading may get to this blog and reads it, this is the first and last time that I would say this, Law Blog, Anuzruta, NMCC, Verdict and IIT Law Review, are things that were started for the school, as long as you are a part of the school try to take these thing forward the best you can. You are a part of RG and whether you love it or hate it you will be the part of RG till you get your result and then it your choice to give or not give a damn.
PS: As far as the recent TnP controversy goes, if you really want to hear more about it, please just reads those emails, or I can send you a vdo that I have prepared on the subject. Since college is over as stated above I don't give a damn.
